This process is carried out in a controlled environment to prevent the ingress of dust and other contaminants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1n0jppr ezxx4fu0\"><span dir=\"auto\">Six successive coats of lacquer are applied to the brass disc that forms the base of the dial. A transparent lacquer is then applied, which is then polished to give the color shine and vibrancy. The various inscriptions are then pad-printed, while the indices and crown are riveted by hand.
